Mousetrap Car

In this project, I was tasked with developing a low-level engineered product with aims of integrating the building process into an educational blueprint. Therefore, I chose to construct a simple mousetrap car, a vehicle mobilized through the tension stored in a mousetrap, with an untraditional method. I first created a prototype of the simple vehicle by sketching models which turned into utilizing CAD software to initialize the construction of the vehicle. When building the wheel, I utilized the laser cutter to carve out wheels of different sizes, shapes, and material. In this project, I also experimented with the torque concept, testing the outcomes when changing the distance of the lever arm and radius of the axial rod. I documented the final assembly of the small vehicle and based off that, created an instructional format. In the blueprint, I concisely explained the step-by-step details of building a mouse-trap car, explaining the technologies, formulas, and design principles capable of becoming integrated into this simple project.
